MOJAVE, Calif. — Jordan Battles, the 14-year-old whose disappearance prompted an urgent public search in Mojave, has been located safe, according to an update posted Thursday evening by AV Scanner News.

The update did not disclose where Jordan was found, who located her or whether she received medical treatment. No additional circumstances surrounding her disappearance have been publicly released.

Original search details

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office had asked for help finding Jordan after she was reported missing Thursday, August 27. She had last been seen near Sierra Highway and Inyo Street, headed westbound toward the desert.

The original notice described Jordan as autistic, 5 feet 7 inches tall and approximately 100 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She had been wearing pink headphones, a black Minecraft shirt with gray sleeves, dark blue jeans and light pink shoes.
