Two of Six Arvin Council Candidates Outline Priorities Before November 3 Election

Two candidates describe why they are running

ARVIN, Calif. — Six candidates are seeking seats on the Arvin City Council in the November 3 election, and 23ABC began its profile series with interviews of Anabel Quintino Rubio and Nora Perez. The station says profiles of every candidate are being prepared.

Quintino Rubio, an Arvin native educated in local schools, emphasized public safety, collaboration and improving the city's financial position. She said her knowledge and experience could help the council work as a team and address the deficit.

Perez, who grew up in Arvin after her family moved to Kern County, emphasized development, streets, gutters, parks, finances and trust. She described wanting better public spaces and a stronger community for the next generation.

Campaign priorities still need details

The interviews establish what the candidates say they value. They do not yet provide cost estimates, funding sources, project schedules or a ranking of which street, park or fiscal action should come first. Those details help voters distinguish shared aspirations from executable plans.
